FREN

EVIACORE reworks and modifies your assembled boards in its Martillac workshop. Before any work, we examine the defect or requested modification, the board's condition, access to the area and the inspections available.

Work on your boards.

SMT and through-hole

We assess soldering rework, targeted replacements, orientation corrections and work on through-hole components. The operation takes account of the condition of the lands or plated through-holes, the proximity of neighbouring components and the number of thermal cycles the board has already undergone.

BGA, QFN and LGA

Removal and replacement of packages with hidden connections are carried out once feasibility has been confirmed. X-ray inspection of hidden connections is always arranged through our partner.

Connectors

Connector replacement is assessed against the number of pins, mechanical anchors, thermal masses and access to both sides. The priority is to preserve the plated through-holes, tracks, solder mask and components surrounding the removal area.

Wire modifications

A wire modification can be applied to one board or repeated across a batch when it is fully documented. The connection points, routing, wire gauge, securing method, insulation and final inspection are specified to produce a clear, repeatable modification.

What we check before starting.

  • Condition of the pads, tracks, vias and plated through-holes around the area concerned
  • Accessibility of the area, thermal masses and sensitivity of neighbouring components
  • History of previous work, observed symptoms and heat exposure
  • Availability of the replacement component and the post-rework inspection method

Preparing rework for your batch.

  1. 01ExamineThe board, its history, the symptom and the instruction are reviewed together to confirm the area and purpose of the rework.
  2. 02PrepareThe component, protection for the surrounding area, rework parameters and inspection method are prepared.
  3. 03ApproveIf the batch warrants it, we rework and inspect a first board before applying the method to the rest.
  4. 04ProcessThe remaining boards are processed with the same instruction, precautions and inspection criteria.

Useful information for assessing your request.

  • Board reference, revision and quantity
  • Clear photographs of both sides and the area concerned
  • Observed symptom and investigations already completed
  • Rework instruction with designators and part numbers
  • History of known work or heat exposure
  • Inspection or test required after rework
